Our Commitment to Protecting the Planet
Because True Hospitality Respects Its Setting
Since opening in 2008, Coquillade Provence has made one thing clear: protecting our environment is not an afterthought—it’s integral to how we operate. Set within the rich natural tapestry of the Luberon, the resort was designed from the start with a commitment to architectural integrity, ecological responsibility, and the kind of stewardship that keeps this place as pristine as our guests find it.
Our sustainability approach is hands-on, embedded in daily practice, and driven by common sense:
- Food waste is minimal by design. We prep based on real-time reservations, and any surplus goes to our staff dining hall.
- Our bakery uses only organic flour for house-made bread and pastries. Breakfast honey? That comes from our own beehives.
- Cleaning is chemical-conscious. All products used are eco-certified, and water-saving fixtures reduce usage without compromise—our average flow rate is under 8.5L/min.
- Our gardens are rooted in place. You’ll find native flora—olive trees, rosemary, lavender—plus a 4,000m² organic vegetable patch supplying our restaurants.
- Staff are part of the solution. Annual sustainability training, green guides, and waste-sorting tools keep everyone engaged.
- Our forested land is protected. We manage undergrowth to reduce fire risk, and encourage low-impact discovery through guided hikes and cycling in the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon.
