Our Story, Our Name, Our Soul
The name Coquillade comes from the crested lark—a migratory bird known for its instinctual return to the same patch of land, season after season. In Provençal, it’s “couquihado”—a song in the dialect of the wind.
This land has always been a resting point for travelers in search of stillness. Long before the vines and villas, birds would stop here mid-journey, guided not by map, but rhythm.
Today, Coquillade continues that tradition. A hilltop estate in the Luberon, reborn as a retreat for those who roam with purpose—and return with joy.
Our new emblem—a bird in mid-flight—is a symbol of that story. A compass for the soul. A quiet signal that you’ve arrived, not just somewhere, but back to yourself.
It now represents both Coquillade Provence and Domaine de la Coquillade—unifying the hotel and the vineyard under one shared symbol of soul and place.
